Welcome! Troop 62 is a "high-adventure" troop and we like to backpack, canoe and mountain bike. We focus on backpacking, also known as trekking, so we often hike into the wilderness and camp with only what we carry in our packs. Backpacking calls for scouts to achieve an expert balance of teamwork and self-sufficiency. Our treks involve challenging hikes along the Florida Trail and other local wilderness areas. Scouts from Troop 62 have attended summer camps at Camp Woodruff, Camp La No Che and Camp Daniel Boone. Our high-adventure trips have included the Appalachian Trail, Philmont, Sea Base and Northern Tier. We are a Leave No Trace troop. We attend Camporees and participate in Scout service activities like Scouting for Food. Troop 62 has several patrols of active scouts ranging from Scout to Eagle rank. Troop 62 consistently earns the BSA Quality Unit designation and our program achieves the BSA objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Our Chartering Organization is Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, in Winter Park, Florida. We have scouts of many faiths and all faiths are welcome.
This website is for current, potential and former members of Troop 62, along with family, friends and visitors. If you want to know more about Troop 62, send parent or guardian contact information to 62info@gmail.com and a troop representative will respond. Thank you for visiting.
